General Settings

To change the FDM settings go Options | Settings | General.

1.The following options are available in the Essential tab of the menu:
·Load on startup;  
·Start minimized;  
·Minimize to tray;  
·Close button minimizes window;  
·Program updates behavior.  
·Skins, the visual appearance of FDM.  

2. The History tab deals with the history of links and folders and the history of downloads. Here you can specify:
·Whether FDM should save history of links and folders;  
·Whether FDM should save history of folders only;  
·The number of days for which history should be kept;  
·Maximum number of records.  
·What kind of records should be kept in the history of downloads and for how long.  
·Whether FDM should list your recent downloads.  

3.In the Notifications tab you can specify if FDM should use tray balloon and play sounds on events.

4. The Miscellaneous tab lets you adjust various parameters, mainly dealing with the Tools menu commands.
·Timeouts for confirmations - lets you set the period of time during which FDM should wait for your confirmation to execute a certain command, such as to hang up connection, exit the program, shutdown your PC or launch download. You can set the program:  
- not to ask for your confirmation;
- wait for the specified time, then execute the command if the user has not answered;
- wait for your confirmation (FDM will not execute the command until you answer).
·Ask for type of shutdown. If checked, FDM will ask you to choose type of shutdown (Shutdown, Hibernate, Log off, Stand by)  
·Disable Tools | "when done" task after execution. When enabled, any Tools | "when done" task will be automatically disabled after execution (in other words, it will be launched only once).  
·Enable or disable various floating windows and adjust their transparency.  
·The Advanced sub-tab of the Miscellaneous tab allows you to change the location of FDM service files (.sav) and set how often they should be auto-saved.
